I haven't updated in yonks.... So here's what's happened over the last few months and the plans for the next year: After graduation (Nov 22) i spent the next month working a few shifts a week at the supermarket and spending the rest of the time catching up with friends, reading and the like. From the 19th to the 25th i was a leader in a youth movement camp. This was an incredible experiance as the girls i was looking after were a mixed bag, some were great kids (generally they were the nerds) but there were also some of the JAPiest, bitchiest kids i've ever seen. Seriously, they were pre-pubecent Meangirls. On the 24th, i turned 18 (got sung "happy birthday" at least 30 times).

During the week after i got back i worked a fair bit (both Boxing Day and New Year's Day for 2.5X pay!) and enjoyed myself... Then i spent the next 2 weeks with my family on the Sunshine Coast (and saw miss Lena ;)). That brings me to this week, which i've spent getting myself for Israel. The program starts on the 31st of Jan and runs till Dec 24th (19th b'day) '06. Bloody exciting.

And that brings y'all upto date; i hope to be more organised with the LJing this year.

You know what is the most stupid thing ever? When companies try to show-off about the picture quality of screens and the like (printers also) by displaying "brilliant" images. The implication is that only if you buy that particular model of tv/printer, will you be able to see with such clarity of picture. Yet, in reality, we only see the display that our own tv show. Therefore, whatever "startling image" we see of the appliance being sold to us, is exactly the one our current tv is capable of. We're such suckers.

Oh and by the way, i graduated last Tuesday :D

Yay, i've finnished all my exams! We graduate on the 22nd and then that's it for school. My plans for summer include helping out with Bnei Akiva summer camp, restarting my job at the supermarket and getting ready for Israel next year. I also plan on turning 18, which should be a bit of fun, albeit 24 days too late to see Ben Lee... Speaking of Ben, it'd be brilliant if you could help me our over here. A mate(un)  is getting married soon and wants to encourage Ben to get a tablature on the site as his present. Thanks.

I’ve been really bad at updating lately… We had our last day of school on Friday and I have my first exam on Friday. My last is on Nov 7 and then I’m officially finished with school.

Check out my desk:

EDIT: Geez, Ned Kelly must've had amazing foresight with that hairstyle... Who would have thought it'd return to style like it has?!

No more picture-posts after this... for a while [Aug. 22nd, 2005|08:53 pm]

I hesitated with this... I don't want it to be taken the wrong way. The text translates as "the nation is with the people" (a play on the popular slogan "the nation is with Gush Katif").

Dearest America,

Now, don't get me wrong - i quite like you. Really, who couldn't like the country who according to Hawkeye Pierce has given the world "Freedom. Achievement. Hyperacidity. Affluence. Flatulence. Technology. Tension. The inalienable right to an early coronary sitting at your desk while plotting to stab your boss in the back"?

That said, i am bloody fed-up with being offered a frigging entry to the "green card" lottery every time i check my email or try to upload a picture. At first, i could deal with your attempt to advertise yourself, your occasional banner ads has some virtual charm to them. I could even deal with them popping up every so often around the internet. But what in the world promted you to employ this seizure inducing piece of phycadelia as a tool of advertisement?

And what In G-d (We Trust)'s name did you take to make you think that this would actually encourage people to attempt to migrate?

You do realise that this type of thing scares away friends and may well be the reason why so many fellow-countries have turned away from you (i.e. because they can't bare to look at this monstrocity for more than 2 seconds before throwing up)?

Sincerely

Ahhhri

PS I've attatched a letter from my lawyers advising you of the cost to pay for my key-board to be devomitified.

A quote from Cafe Scheherezade (by Arnold Zable), a book written about my grandthather's family. This bit is about my great-great-grandfather (or therebouts) and explains EVRYTHING:

"Grandfather Hershl Frydman was a rabbi, a follower of the Bialer Hasidim. He spent his days in a shtiebele, a tiny prayer house in Sidelce, where he studied and taught Torah. He was known as Hershl "Mruk", the brooder, because he did not talk very much. He was upset with his four children. All of them had forsaken their religion. All had become trade unionists and revolutionaries. One of his daughters was a communist. She rose through the ranks to become the party secretary of Sidelce. "

Oh and according to my mum, i'm the only person who would be proud of this type of family history...
